February 17, 2000

     The meeting was called to order by President Sarah Pfeifer with 15 members present by the end of the meeting.  Pledges were said.  Amy Hunter moved to approve the secretary’s minutes and Marla Schnitzler seconded.  Motion passed.  Amy Hunter later gave the Finance Report.  The only transaction was the $20 deposit from the 2nd Fry Daddy.  It was also announced that SORF approved our request for National Conference registration, hotel expenses, and $150 of travel per person.

     Marla Schnitzler reported on ACES Council.  The next Lunch with the Deans will be March 21 in Bevier Commons and then April 13 in 426 Mumford.  Tour guides and greeters are still needed for ACES Open House.  The Legislative Seminar worth 1-hour credit is March 29.  Amy Hunter won the ACES T-shirt design contest.  This will also be the last item with the old ACES logo.  Shirts can be purchased at ACES Open House.  Illini Horizon is looking for someone to submit our club news.  Lastly, we need more people to sign up at our booth for ACES Open House.  If you have not yet done so, contact Marla Schnitzler to sign up.

     This Sunday, February 20 will be the potluck at Shelia’s house.  Everyone is asked to bring something along to share.  It will be from 5-8 p.m.    Click here for directions.

     We had a good turn out at ACES Phone-A-Thon.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered.

     The ACES Award Banquet is April 30.  Angie moved to call our award the “Collegiate 4-H Outstanding Member Award”.  Michelle Adams seconded.  Motion passed.  This award will be given out at the banquet.  If you have a nomination for the award, send it to Sarah before the next meeting.

     The proposed constitution revisions were then discussed.  We will vote on the changes at the next meeting.  Click here to view.

     Nominations were then taken for next year’s officers.  Angie Haag was nominated for president.  Michelle Adams for VP.  Megan Blackwell for secretary.  Jeremiah Fleming for Treasurer.  John Garlish for ACES Chair.  Open nominations will continue until 2 days prior to the March 23rd meeting.  Send nominations to Sarah Pfeifer.

    VIP asked for a volunteer from C4-H to sit on the planning board for a high school conference they are planning.  Pam Wilcoxson and Michelle Adams volunteered.
The State 4-H Office is looking for volunteers to judge the award applications on April 1 in Springfield.
SERVE Illinois Conference is this weekend.

Mortar Board applications are available.
SAC applications are available and due March 24.
Sarah Pfeifer and Amy Hunter are running for the positions of VP and SORF board respectfully for Student Government.  They are on the Impact slate.  Elections will be March 6-7.

     Amy Hunter moved to adjourn and Sarah Pfeifer seconded.  Motion passed.
