January 27, 2000

     Sarah called the meeting to order shortly after 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2000.  Since there were no corrections to the December meeting minutes, Juanita motioned to accept them.  Amy seconded.  Amy then gave the Treasurer’s report.  Marla approved the minutes and Angie seconded.  Shelia brought up that she was interested in purchasing the other Fry Daddy.  She gave Amy her payment of $20.
     Megan Blackwell reported that our Secretaries’ Day Violet Sales which will be April 25-26 in Mumford Hall.  She is looking into where to order flowers and what kinds.
     Eric Brucker asked for social event ideas.  Juanita suggested a potluck dinner, which everyone agreed upon.  Shelia volunteered to host at her home.  The date for the potluck will be Sunday, February 20 at 5 p.m.  We will be doing food sign-ups at the next meeting.  It was also announced that The Ohio State University Collegiate 4-H Club is hosting a Plowboy Prom the weekend of Valentines Day.  If interested, please contact Angie for more information.
     The ACES Phone-A-Thon is February 6-9 in 426 Mumford Hall.  Activities start at 5:45 p.m.  Sunday and Wednesday nights were declared official Collegiate 4-H Volunteer nights.  Contact Sarah ASAP to sign up if you haven’t done so already.
     Marla reported on ACES Open House, which is March 3-4.  Dairy Queen donated the caramel to us for the apples.  We will be serving nachos, caramel apples, and suckers.  Shift sign-ups went around.  Please sign-up with Marla over e-mail or at the next meeting.
     This year, the ACES Council will be giving out a Club Award and an Advisor Award.  A committee was set up to fill out our application.  It includes Marla Schnitzler and Pam Wilcoxson.  The club itself also gives out an Outstanding Member Award for which criteria need to be set up.
     A Christmas Thank You from Shelia was read.
     Our constitution is in desperate need of revision.  A committee consisting of Angie Haag, Megan Blackwell, Jeremiah Fleming, and Amy Hunter was set up to go over the constitution and suggest admendments.
     Sarah moved to adjourn the meeting and Eric provided the second.
