The meeting was called to order by President Sarah Pfeifer at 6:50 p.m. Last month’s secretaries minutes were summarized by Angie Haag. Amy Hunter moved to approve the minutes and Marla Schnitzler seconded. Motion passed. Amy Hunter explained the financial report. We do still have some suckers left to sell, also. Marla moved to approve the report and Jennifer Dale seconded.
It was noted that thank yous need written to Dairy Queen, Meijer, and Eric Brucker’s mom for donating and letting us borrow things for ACES Open House.
Marla Schnitzler gave the ACES Open House wrap-up. It went well and we brought in about as much money as last year. The total was $531.21. And, again we have suckers left is anyone has any ideas how to sell them.
Megan Blackwell passed around a sign-up sheet for Secretary’s Day Violet Sales. We will be setting up in Mumford and delivering on April 25-26. Please sign-up for a slot on either of those two afternoons if you haven’t done so already. So far, Vans was only place priced for flowers. Violets are $1.55, Gerber Daisies $0.68, and Cyclamens $3. Megan will also be checking at Lowe’s and a few other places around town.
The ACES Awards committee has been working on our applications. They are due April 3.
ACES Council Committee chair elections are coming up sometime before the end of the semester.
The constitution changes were briefly discussed. Juanita Fulk moved to approve the changes. Brian Wilson seconded. Motion passed.
Juanita, Megan, and Angie all attended Nationals
in Denver. At the convention, National dues were set at $5 per active
member, but not to exceed $50. Dues are to be paid by the end of
November. A national service project theme was also set at the convention
for clubs to follow over the next three years. And, Mizzou C4-H will
be hosting Nationals in 2002.
Funds have been received from SORF for the trip.
Marla moved to give $50 to the three members who attended Nationals.
Angie seconded. Motion passed. They will now receive the full
$125 back from registration.
Body Walk, a health program for elementary students, is April 11-13. Amy is helping look for volunteers to lead groups and give presentations. Contact her if interested (ahunter@uiuc.edu)
State 4-H records will be judged April 1st in Springfield. Contact Sarah or the State office if interested in judging.
E-mail from Ohio State was read. Regionals will be held in Columbus November 10-12. This is also 4-H Day, siblings day, and the OSU football game here. Contact Angie Haag if you think you might be interested in attending, as they need a ruff number of delegates.
Collegiate can nominate one member for Leadershape, a leadership conference at Allerton Park May 16-21. It is all expenses paid and applications are due March 28. They prefer sophomores entering their junior year attend. Contact Sarah if interested.
ACES Awards banquet is April 30. Tickets are around $8. Jeremiah moved to give a co-Outstanding member award. Jennifer seconded. Motion passed.
