November 6, 2001 Meeting MinutesThe meeting was called to order by President John Garlisch on Tuesday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m. in 428 Mumford Hall. Krista Fleming submitted the Treasure's report and Kim Scherer submitted the Secretary's report. Both were approved. Dues at $10 were due at this meeting so please get them to Krista as soon as possible. There is more information on a possible Lisa Mauney Memorial. John talked to Rod Stoll at the Illinois 4-H Foundation and there is a possibility of a scholarship to National Club Congress in Citizenship and Achievement. We decided we would help raise funds for the memorial but there is nothing established yet. Our Christmas Service Project will be buying Christmas presents for a family or children through the Salvation Army. We voted to spend less than $100. We will meet at Papa Dels at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 7th. After the pizza those interested will help buy the presents. 4-H Day is Saturday, November 10, and volunteers are still needed for the Krannert Ceremony at 7 a.m. that morning. Volunteers would help guests and sit with a club during the ceremony, which should end around noon. Please e-mail kmbuilta@uiuc.edu if you can help. There will not be a representative from our club this year. However, Nationals are February 21-24 in St. Louis. Contact John Garlisch if you are interested. Amy Taylor, social chair, is finalizing plans for bowling or ice-skating. Anyone interested in helping brainstorm ideas for the Dream Catchers 4-H Club can meet with Marilyn and the Dream Catchers committee on Friday, November 16 at 9 a.m. at Taft House. We will probably be doing a spring activity with the Fithian 4-H Club focusing on project areas. In New Business, the Body Walk has been set for April 9-11 at the Armory. There will be a planning luncheon at the Champaign County Extension Office on Nov. 28 at noon if anyone wants to attend and represent Collegiate 4-H. The meeting was adjourned.
