This map shows the amount of Potassium available in the field. The
Illinois Agronomy handbook recommends a level of 300 lb. of available K2O
for these soils. The red and green areas of the map would receive from 350
to 330 lb. of Potash fertilizer, while the other areas would receive 200
lb. of Potash fertilizer. This amount would be spread every other year. A
normal fertilizer rate for non VRT applications would be from 200 to 250
lb. of Phosphorus fertilizer every other year.
