Red zone < 5.5
Green zone > 5.5 and < 5.7
Gray zone > 5.7 and < 6.0
Violet zone > 6.0 and < 6.3
Blue zone > 6.3

This map shows the pH of the soil. These soil are naturally acidic, and we try to maintain a pH of at least 6.0. Almost 1/2 of the field does not require any limestone, while the green and gray zones will receive from 1 to 2 tons of limestone per acre. This will be done only once during the 4 year life of this soil.
